I was sitting in a healthfood shop yesterday, sipping on my oragnic fruitsalad smoothie and engaging in an internal dialogue about the wonders of spring being sprung and all, when i happened upon an article in this month's Living Now mag - a free australian publication you can pick up at various haunts. Anyway the article was on how there has been a 13 year study done in the US to see just how many people really were 'cultural creatives'. that is people who 'ran their lives by a different set of rules from the corporates (greys)... largely love nature, are concerned about environmental issues, work at maintaining relationships, care intensely about psychological and spiritual development, see spirituality as important, want more from political parties, are optimistic, distrusting of the pessimistic views of the general media... concerned about profiteering of big corporations etc The statistics on the website break that down further (see http://www.culturalcreatives.org/straightfacts.html ) and show that these are people who are really concerned about exploitation of the environment and people in poorer countries and the values of a consumer society. The study says that there are around 50 million americans who fall under this category but that one of the big things about cultural creatives is they feel uneffective and powerless coz they think they are the minority. They feel alone... The article suggests other countries could be in a similar situation. Anyway, to me this is where colour the grey comes in... it gives me real hope to know there are so many people out there wanting wonderful, creative, amazing lives. it seems that they want colour but are convinced by the greys that there are no other options. it wouldn't take much to nudge already willing people into an amazing multi-hued life. the shift of perception created by our combined workings could just be the ticket that opens those minds (including our own) to the whole spectrum of potenial. artemisia TEXTS T.R.I.P.S.
